Fabric Craft – Sewing Notions

Here is a list of essential sewing notions I use to help each unique sewing project come to a confident completion. My threads, rotary cutter, and tape measure are an absolute *must* in my sewing notions arsenal!

I only use Gutermann Cotton Thread for my projects, but the Gutermann Thread Box has a good variety of colors in polyester fiber; it’s ideal to have an assortment of colors, so I have the proper thread to match my project.
Dritz Snag-Nab-It is such a great tool to have when there are stray threads that need to be tucked into a piece of clothing, a stuffed toy, or any piece of work.
Dritz Fray Check is an amazing product. It helps fabric from fraying and holes from getting larger. It’s great for projects that have raw edges, or tiny French roll hems. Keep in mind that the product does create slight discoloration on some fabrics, so test in an inconspicuous spot before using.
The Dritz Water Soluble Marking Pencil is another handy tool to have when working with patterns.
The Clover Tracing Wheel is sturdier than other tracing wheels I’ve found out there, and with its spikier ends, it makes clear dots on fabrics. I use this tracing wheel with the Clover “Chacopy” Tracing Paper.
I’ve cut (pun intended) my prep work down tremendously by using the OLFA Rotary Cutter with the OLFA Self-Healing Rotary Mat.
I use the Dritz Omnigrid Quilter’s Square and the Dritz Omnigrid Right Triangle to help cut my fabrics, and to make sure my edges are at the right angles.
There are so many different brands of tape measures, and I use my cutesy Pylones pig for my projects; however, any basic one, like the Singer Tape Measure works well for all craft projects.
